LAS VEGAS (AP) — Firefighters say it took more than 20 people to rescue a 70-year-old man who fell 20 feet down a ventilation shaft at the Tropicana casino in Las Vegas.
Clark County firefighters say they responded the scene a little before 5 p.m. Monday. They found the man had fallen through a grate that covered the shaft and had moderate injuries.
A Las Vegas Fire and Rescue team used a ladder to reach the man before sending down a basket to pull him up.
Crews say it took about an hour to rescue the man.
Officials from the Clark County Building Department were called to check on the safety of the shaft, which is near the front of the casino property.
