(LAS VEGAS, KXNT/CBS)–New figures from the state show taxable sales jumped more than 3 percent in December.
More restaurant meals, higher car sales, more clothing sales fueled the increase. There were even more impressive gains in Clark County–taxable sales were up 6 percent from a year earlier, with more than 3-point 1 billion in sales. Statewide, construction-related taxable sales were 25 percent .
Overall, however, there were increases in December in only eight of Nevada’s seventeen counties.
Gross revenue collections from sales and taxes totaled $336.5 million in December, a 3.6 percent improvement over December 2011.
