(Carson City, NV) — Assemblyman Steven Brooks won’t be able to buy a gun from a licensed dealer for at least one year.
The Nevada Department of Public Safety says that’s because of information found during a background check. The lawmaker tried to buy a gun from a Sparks sporting goods store last week.
Brooks has been arrested twice since January, and detained for a psychiatric evaluation.
He remains banned from the Legislative Building, while lawmakers decide whether to remove Brooks from office.
