(Las Vegas, NV) — State Senator Tick Segerblom, D-Las Vegas, has announced legislation that would authorize medical marijuana dispensaries in the state.
The freshman senator said his bill to regulate dispensaries would use Arizona’s medical marijuana law as a model.
“The dispensaries would be tightly regulated and if you have a medical marijuana card you can go buy the product. There will also be grow facilities separate, but also tightly regulated that produce the marijuana and then sell to the dispensaries, ” Segerblom said told KXNT.
In November of 2000, voters approved the bill authorizing medical marijuana dispensaries. Patients are allowed to possess up to an ounce of marijuana, but oddly enough cannot legally possess seeds.
The bill is in legal limbo and will likely be heard in Carson City in the next few weeks
