(Las Vegas, NV) — The family of Kenneth Cherry, Jr. is speaking out about the murdered man.

During a news conference Saturday, Cherry’s father said his 27-year-old son was not the violent gangster “Kenny Clutch” he portrayed in rap videos.

Kenneth Cherry, Sr. says his son was polite to his elders, had only minor traffic citations and “was trying to do something with his life.”

The family plans to help raise the victim’s three kids in Oakland, California, and will donate money to the families of the two people killed when Cherry’s car crashed into their taxi.
