Strip Shooting Leaves Tourists Concerned
(Las Vegas, NV) — A fiery crash on the Strip that left three people killed and a gunman on the loose Thursday morning got the attention of some out-of-towners visiting Las Vegas.
KXNT was at the scene and talked with Lee, who is in town from Hawaii. “I guess it shows you that although Las Vegas is a fun city, how dangerous it can be. I mean it happened right where we are staying, it happened at Bally’s.”
Las Vegas police said several occupants of a black Range Rover fired shots into a Maserati around 4:20 a.m. at Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road. The Maserati crashed into a taxi and killed the two occupants. The driver of the Maserati was killed while another was shot and taken to UMC.
Russ, who is in town from Chicago told KXNT that his plans will remain the same during his visit.
“This is just one of those freak accidents that can never be planned for. We will still enjoy our visit, but it does stop and make you think a little bit.”
Police continue to search for the black Range Rover equipped with large black rims, paper dealer plates and tinted windows.
Capt. Chris Jones said that surveillance video may be available for authorities to gain more information.
This comes on the heels of another incident on the Strip. On February 16th a man was stabbed in an elevator at Mandalay Bay. Two men have been arrested and charged with attempted murder.
