LAS VEGAS (AP) – Authorities have identified a woman whose body was found in a trash bin in northeast Las Vegas earlier this week.
Clark County coroner’s officials say the body of 28-year-old Josephine Lynn Butler was found about 11 a.m. Tuesday near Las Vegas Boulevard North and Craig Road.
Police say she appears to have died of non-natural causes, although the coroner is awaiting the results of a toxicology report before determining Butler’s cause of death.
Her family tells Channel 13 Action News she was found in a duffel bag inside the trash bin. She leaves behind a 7-year-old daughter.
Homicide detectives are investigating how Butler’s body ended up in a trash bin.
Police and Butler’s family are asking anyone with information on the case to call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
