Police: Man Dead After Fire Interrupted Burglary
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police in Las Vegas say a man found dead in the trunk of a car after firefighters doused a blaze in his house was killed after interrupting a burglary.
Police said Wednesday that one or more burglars got into the house through a window and surprised the victim when he returned home.
The Clark County coroner is withholding the man’s name while police investigate.
Officer Marcus Martin says there’s no indication he knew his attackers.
The body was found after the 2 a.m. Tuesday fire damaged the garage and other parts of the house on a residential street near Eastern Avenue and Warm Springs Road.
Police say the man was attacked and beaten inside the home, then put in the trunk of the car before the house was set afire.
