CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A 19-year-old Carson City woman has died from injuries she suffered in an apparent road rage incident.
Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong says Desiree Bragg died at a Reno hospital on Wednesday after being taken off life support.
Deputies say Bragg was riding in a car driven by her fiancee Saturday night when they noticed a van tailgating close behind on College Parkway. They pulled into Bragg’s mother’s driveway and got out of the car.
Deputies say that’s when the 27-year-old driver of the van accelerated into Bragg, causing multiple, serious injuries.
The suspect, Leonardo Cardoza, was arrested on charges of suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon, leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and DUI. Furlong says additional charges are expected now that Bragg has died.
