Student Reassignment Recommended for Overcrowded Southwest Schools
Las Vegas CBS KXNT – As part of a package of options to address overcrowded elementary schools in the city’s southwest, Clark County School District will consider whether to reassign 2,400 elementary school students. School board president Carolyn Edwards described the recommendation from the district’s Attendance Zone Advisory Commission — AZAC — as one option on the table.
Edwards told KXNT on Wednesday that the recommendation is just that. The school district’s board of trustees could adopt some or all of the recommendation, or none of it, she said.
Other options include year-round school, and adding portable classrooms to existing campuses. The board could come up with a solution involving all three. The board will vote to adopt a plan on March 6.
