Henderson Backs Tax Hike For More Police

(Henderson, NV) — The Henderson City Council is backing a plan to hire more cops.

Members last night voted unanimously to support a proposed bill that would raise the local sales tax by a quarter-cent for new officers.

Henderson police chief Patrick Moers says the money will pay for up to 62 new cops in his department.

Clark County commissioners voted to support the tax hike last month.
