(Las Vegas, NV) — Props, jokes and a number of jabs at her husband, Oscar, were at the core of Mayor Carolyn Goodman’s State of the City address.

The vivacious Las Vegas resident since 1964 praised downtown and the need for continued development in the core part of the city.

Goodman listed The Smith Center, Mob Museum and of course the new City Hall as landmarks that have led to the resurgence of Las Vegas

Putting herself on a kitchen timer to keep the speech to a minimum length, ineffectively, Goodman promised that the proposed arena is still alive, but will be some time until talks continue.

Props that made its way to the podium included her new bobble head, a $1000 poker chip, which extinguishes the strength of Oscar’s $100 chip and a pair of odd Chinese art statues designed to help downtown business realize their potential
