Las Vegas – The Runnin Rebels opened up conference play Wednesday night with a loss, as #25 New Mexico beat the 24th ranked Rebels 65-60 at the Pit in Albuquerque.

The Lobos were lead by sophomore center Alex Kirk, who scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Khem Birch and Anthony Bennett were the top scorers for the Rebels, each finishing with 12 points.

UNLV is back home Saturday night, when they host Air Force at the Thomas and Mack.
