(Las Vegas, NV) — A robbery suspect remains hospitalized after being shot by a Metro Police officer.

Early yesterday morning, officers were called out to investigate a suspicious vehicle near East Bonanza and Maryland Parkway. Officers recognized one of the people inside as a suspect in a recent armed robbery.

The suspect led officers on a car chase to the 600-block of North 12th Street.

Police say the man fired at officers, and one officer shot and wounded the suspect. A second person was also arrested.

An investigation is continuing.
