(Las Vegas, NV) — Drivers along I-15 between Primm and Las Vegas will see more troopers on the road. The Nevada Highway Patrol is targeting violators from the California state line to Sin City.
Trooper Jeremie Elliott says the NHP will crack down on drivers under the influence, using cell phones or not wearing a seat belt to help reduce deaths and injuries.
The NHP has responded to 877 crashes along the so-called “Primm District” over the past five years. Twenty-three of those accidents resulted in death.
Electronic freeway signs will flash the message “Entering NHP Zero Tolerance Zone” as a warning to drivers.
