Old Computers Go to Low-Income Kids
Las Vegas CBS KXNT- An organization that gives used computers to low-income local kids is looking for donations. The Computer For Kids program wants to take in 175 donated computers per week in the new year, in order to meet its goal of distributing about 3,600 refurbished computers in 2013.
Las Vegas office manager Kim Franklin says they accept used electronics from business or personal donors. Computers for Kids will pick up donations of 20 devices or more. Smaller donations have to be delivered by the donor.
No device is too old, Franklin told KXNT on Monday, and the organization accepts virtually any kind of device, including, cameras, DVD players and cell phones.
