(Las Vegas) – A Moapa Tribal Police Officer shot and killed a suspect at the Moapa Paiute Travel Plaza at the Valley of Fire State Park exit off of I-15 Sunday night.

The police say the man was wanted in connection with a shooting incident on the Moapa River Indian Reservation that took place Saturday. Officers were called to the shops at exit 75 around 7 o’clock by security and report that the suspect became combative.

One of the two officers on the scene tasered the unidentified suspect but that apparently had little or no effect. The police report says the suspect pulled a gun and pointed it at one officer, prompting gunshots from the Tribal Police.

The FBI will conduct the investigation into the shooting.
