CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada state gambling revenues are continuing a slight upward trend, with officials reporting that casinos won almost 2 percent more in October compared with the same month a year ago.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board reported Friday that casinos won about $961 million for the month, and the state collected a little more than $54 million based on that amount.

The state percentage fee was up almost 17 percent from the previous year.

October marked the second monthly increase for gambling win in Nevada.

Las Vegas Strip casinos reaped about $581 million, up 3.6 percent in October. Downtown casinos won just under 1 percent.

Reno casino revenues of $42.6 million were down almost 7 percent, while South Lake Tahoe’s $15.8 million was up a little under 1 percent.
