CBS LAS VEGAS- Nevada has a law that requires contractors who win contracts for publicly financed construction projects to pay workers according to a strict wage schedule established by the s labor commissioner. Geoff Lawrence is the Director of Policy for Nevada Policy Research Institute (NPRI) and he talks about how the prevailing wage law benefits narrow groups at public expense.
Since the reelection of Barack Obama, many states have petitioned that would let the states succeed from the United States. The petition would allow Nevada to peacefully withdraw from the United States. Recently there has been a spike in foreclosed homes in the valley. Geoff Lavell is a realtor with Lavell And Associates With Realty One Group and he explains why we are seeing this spike in foreclosures.
