(Carson City, NV) – Governor Brian Sandoval has not yet decided whether to expand Nevada’s Medicaid program to cover more uninsured residents.
Sandoval may not announce a decision until his State of the State address on January 16th.
When the U.S. Supreme Court ruled President Obama’s Affordable Care Act was legal, it allowed states the option of deciding whether to expand Medicaid.
The governor believes it will cost up to $50 million a year to cover an additional 71,000 people.
