(Las Vegas, NV)  —  The UNLV basketball team kicks off its new season tonight with a home game against Northern Arizona.  But if you don’t have a ticket, think twice before handing over your money to a scalper.

Campus and civilian police say officers will be patrolling the Thomas and Mack Center this game day, some of them going undercover.

UNLV officials say scalped tickets may be fake, and fans could get burned at the door.

They recommend you buy tickets through the box office or a licensed broker.

Selling game tickets on campus is illegal, even at face value.
