CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — State officials say Nevada gambling revenues were up more than 3% in September compared with the same month a year ago.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board reports a gambling win of $893 million for September. Officials also say casino revenues for July through September are up almost 6% compared with the same quarter in 2011.
Las Vegas Strip revenues of $497 million in September were up 1.2%, while downtown was up 6%.
Reno revenues of $49 million were up almost one percent, while South Lake Tahoe’s $18 million win was up 5%.
State officials say they saw a big jump in tax revenue collected off the winnings. The state’s takeaway amounted to $71 million, which is a 38% year-over-year jump.
