Accused Kitten Killers Sentenced To House Arrest

(Las Vegas, NV) —  A judge has placed two 11-year-olds on house arrest after police say they threw rocks that killed six newborn kittens in southwest Las Vegas.

Fox 5 reports the boys’ attorneys didn’t admit fault in court Monday, but pointed to psychological evaluations that suggest the children are low-risk.

The boys were ordered to wear GPS monitors until their next court date Oct. 30.

Police say neighbors heard breaking glass at an apartment complex on Russell Road about 5 p.m. on Oct. 9. Witnesses say they saw the two boys throwing rocks against a building before running from the area.

Authorities say the children had been throwing rocks at a mother cat that was giving birth, and her kittens ultimately died.

The boys face seven counts each of animal cruelty.
