(Las Vegas, NV) — Nevada retailers are expected to add more than 4,000 seasonal positions through December.
The Retail Association of Nevada estimates the potential jobs will be in-line with the hirings in 2011 that were around 4,000 as well.
During the past five years, the Nevada retail sector grew by an average of nearly four percent during the same time. However, according to Brian Wachter with the RAN, there could be even more added.
“If we actually meet the five-year average, the job gain may be closer to 5,000.”
Amazon, Target, Macy’s and Walmart are expected to have seasonal jobs available.
In Nevada there are over 164,ooo people unemployed.
Across the country holiday hiring is expected to reach 700,000 in 2012, an increase of about 4o thousand jobs.
