(Las Vegas, NV) — Nevada’s unemployment rate fell in September to 11.8%. That’s down from 12.1% in August and better than the 13.6% reported one year ago.
The Nevada Department of Employment says 4300 fewer Nevadans reported being out of work–a combination of some giving up looking, and others obtaining employment.
The number of jobs added, 14,600, was almost double the typical August average of 7500.
Las Vegas’ unemployment was 11.5%, down from 12.3% in August and 14% in September 2011.
