(Las Vegas, NV)  –  The uncompleted Echelon development on the Las Vegas Strip will remain that way for the foreseeable future.

Boyd Gaming executive Bob Boughner told the Nevada Gaming Commission yesterday the economy has not sufficiently recovered to restart the nearly $5 billion resort and entertainment complex on the center Strip.

Boughner says the company will complete a beautification project to hide the bare steel and concrete structures by January.

Work on Echelon was halted in August 2008 when the recession hit.
