(Las Vegas, NV) –Beating drug abuse is no small task and today at the Regional Justice Center, 5.200 graduates took center stage.
Judge Linda Marie Bell, who currently presides over the drug court led the celebration that included three drug court graduates who told how they escaped the clutches of addiction.
Drug court solves issues through a coordinated approach between the judiciary, prosecution, defense bar, probation, law enforcement, mental health, social service, and treatment communities. All work together to help non-violent offenders recover and become productive citizens.
The American Medical Association encourages the establishment of drug courts at the state and local level as an alternative to incarceration and means of overcoming addiction for non-violent offenders.
