(Las Vegas, NV)  —  Halloween is a treat for retailers this year.

The Retail Association of Nevada says Silver State residents are expected to spend about $118 million on Halloween-related merchandise.  That’s up from $107 million last year.

RAN President Mary Lau says that bodes well for the upcoming holiday season.

Of those planning to celebrate halloween, just over half will decorate their houses.

It’s not just humans planning to get dressed up on October 31st.  About 15% of Nevadans say they’ll be getting costumes for their pets as well.
