(Las Vegas CBS KXNT) It’s a cheap meal, but it’s no cheesy deal. One of the Las Vegas Valley’s favorite pizza joints will sell one-dollar slices on Wednesday to raise money for local food bank Three Square.
The idea came to the managers at Metro Pizza when they heard that a lot of kids go hungry if they don’t eat at school. The company’s owner contacted Three Square to find out how to help, and was told that every dollar the food bank receives translates to three meals, General Manager Ann Rankin told KXNT.
“We said, ‘Let’s do our part for the community and let’s sell slices for a dollar,’ Rankin said.
The Metro location at Decatur and Flamingo will offer the cheap cheese slices from 5:30-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rankin wasn’t sure how much money will result.
“We’re hoping we can sell 500 slices, a thousand slices, whatever we can do,” she said.
