(Las Vegas, NV) –In a world where prices rarely go down you may consider it a win if they remain flat.

That is exactly the case in regard to cab fare in Las Vegas as the cab companies and the Nevada Taxicab Authority have reached an agreement to keep the fare at its current rate of $2.60 per mile.

Charles Harvey is the Administrator for the Nevada Taxicab Authority and explains how the process works.

“The taxi companies will come in and make a request whether to increase the number of medallions or the rates or to make some sort of other change.”

At the latest meeting the cab companies requested no rate change and no increase in fleet number either.

The month-to-month revenues have remained virtually flat from August 2011-2012.

In Las Vegas there are over 2,400 taxicabs
