LAS VEGAS (CBS Las Vegas) — Lovers in long-distance relationships could one day be able to achieve intimacy and sexual satisfaction despite their separation, thanks to the invention of LovePalz.
However, though it was met with some enthusiasm from the public for its creativity, not everyone was enamored with the idea.
According to the official website for LovePalz, online fundraising organizers Kickstarter reportedly prohibited LovePalz from using their services.
“We are here because we [were] rejected by Kickstarter,” they wrote at the top of the web page. “[W]e believe our product is so amazing that the world has to see it.”
As such, the creators of LovePalz launched a new campaign on Sept. 19 to raise both funds and awareness, and has asked interested parties to place pre-orders for their toys.
Those wishing to submit an order have until Nov. 18 to do so.
Using “motion-sensing technology,” the toy “aims to create physical feelings as real as possible in virtual sex experience.”
“It can simulate your actions and cause physical contact over Internet in real time,” the site explains. “Through our service, you and your lover each hold one device and as long as you remain connected to the Internet, the device automatically senses your actions and conveys them to your partner’s toy.”
Each individual toy costs $49.95. For $94.95, you can buy a matching set. Additionally, a 24-karat gold pair can be obtained for $10,000.
