(Las Vegas, NV) — There were 21,000 fewer passengers coming and going at McCarran Airport in July of this year compared to July last year. But the total number of passengers is up for the year to date.

The July total for this year: just over 3.6 million passengers compare to almost 3.7 million in July of 2011. Comparing year-to-year totals: the first 7 months of 2011 saw just over 24 million arrivals and departures, with this year’s total so far at 24.4 million, an increase of 1.5 percent.

The largest increase is seen among international travelers, up just over 9 percent in July, and almost 12 percent year-to-date.
