Las Vegas – Over 300-thousand Clark County students are heading back to class today. And police officers will be keeping a close eye on school zones. Drivers caught speeding near schools face double the usual fines, and they’ll also be cited for not yielding to students in crosswalks.
The school district will have nearly 15-hundred buses on the road, carrying more than 100-thousand students a day. Superintendent Dwight Jones will kick off the first day of school later this morning, by serving as a crossing guard outside Ronnow Elementary.
