(Las Vegas, NV)  –  Nevada Senator Dean Heller is joining a growing number of Republicans calling on Congressman Todd Akin to drop his Senate bid in Missouri.

In a statement released by his campaign, Heller called Akin’s claims that women don’t get pregnant in cases of “legitimate rape, “unquestionably inappropriate and absurd.”

Heller also said Akin “should not be the standard bearer for the Republican Party in Missouri.”
