Audit: Nevada Wrongly Paid Subsidies
(Carson City, NV) — A federal audit has found Nevada wrongly gave subsidies to help some people pay their Medicare premiums.
The “Sun” says the Silver State will have to pay $180,000 back to the feds for not removing ineligible people from the rolls. Another $900,000 dollars in funding is being withheld, pending further review of some cases.
Charles Duarte, the administrator who oversees the programs, says his agency has improved its monitoring and record-keeping procedures.
