(Las Vegas, NV) — The United States Department of Labor has a myriad of resources to help put people to work.
Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis spoke to a crowd at Agassi Prep. Thursday and discussed what the Obama Administration is doing to help Nevada and the rest of the country get back to work. Holis told KXNT how high school students can kick start their career.
“We at least give them the basic skill sets so they can get in a technical training program. I’m talking about manufacturing. I’m talking about skill sets that after that after you leave that high school you can get into any job. And if you want to continue on and go to college then you’ll have the basic foundation to do that.”
The Obama’s administration recovery efforts have helped to create 2.4 million private sector jobs since February 2010. Prior to January 2009, the country was in the midst of a recession, having shed 4.4 million jobs since 2007.
