(Las Vegas, NV)  —  People who hand out flyers along the Las Vegas Strip will now be responsible for cleaning up their areas.

Clark County commissioners have approved a new ordinance that requires handbillers to pick up discarded flyers within a 25-foot radius every 15 minutes.  Those who don’t comply face a $1000 fine and six months in jail.

Supporters say the ordinance will help keep sidewalks along the Strip corridor clean.

Handbillers contend they should not be responsible for picking up other people’s trash.
