LAS VEGAS (AP) — MGM Resorts says THEhotel at the Mandalay Bay is transforming into an all-suite hotel called Delano Las Vegas.

Officials from MGM and Morgans Hotel Group say they’ll be working together to renovate the 1,100-suite THEhotel property by the end of 2013.

Morgans Hotel Group operates another hotel called Delano in South Beach, Fla.

Mandalay Bay President and Chief Operating Officer Chuck Bowling says the brand is especially popular with customers in Latin America and Europe, which the company is eyeing for future growth.

Morgans says it will also bring changes to some eateries at the Mandalay Bay. It’s planning to introduce a casual American bistro by Chef Brian Massie, a Japanese restaurant by celebrity chef Akira Back, and a redesign for Red Square.
