(Carson City, NV) — The Nevada Supreme Court has tossed an initiative for a new Las Vegas Strip sports arena off the November ballot.
Justices have ruled the description on the petition did not tell voters the $500 million arena would only be constructed on land owned by Caesars Entertainment.
The initiative would have asked voters for a sales tax increase in the Strip area to build the arena near Caesars-owned Imperial Palace.
It’s a victory for rival casino owners who fought the sports-arena plan in court.
