LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities in Las Vegas are continuing to investigate the in-custody death of a 37-year-old U.S. Army veteran who died at a hospital two days after struggling with police during his arrest.

Clark County coroner’s officials said Tuesday that a cause of death for Glenn Young Ybanez (ee-BAHN-yez) is pending.

Officer Jose Hernandez says Las Vegas police are investigating how Ybanez became unconscious during his arrest July 2.

Police say Ybanez had been sought on an out-of-state criminal warrant when he ran from police during a vehicle stop a few blocks west of the Las Vegas Strip.

Family members tell the Pacific Daily News on the Pacific Island of Guam that Ybanez was a former Army sergeant who served in Iraq before moving to Las Vegas in 2008.
