Post Office Shutdown Amid Allegiations
LAMOILLE, Nev. (AP) — A contract post office in Elko County has been shut down without notice amid an investigation by the U.S. Postal Service’s Office of Inspector General into alleged misconduct.
Lisa Emery of the inspector general’s Las Vegas office was by other postal officials when the Lamoille office was closed Thursday.
Lamoille contract postmistress Marilyn Laney told the Elko Daily Free Press that the inspector made vague and false accusations against her.
Lamoille is 25 miles outside of Elko in the northeastern part of Nevada.
