Las Vegas – After completing a full practice Wednesday, USA Basketball Men’s National Team member Blake Griffin (Los Angeles Clippers) reported he was experiencing discomfort in his left knee. Griffin will fly back to Los Angeles Thuesday for further evaluation and will miss the game against the Dominican Republic. The Clippers said in a statement that Griffin would undergo an MRI exam once he returns to Los Angeles and then will be evaluated by Dr. Neal ElAttrache of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic on Sunday. USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo suggested the soreness in Griffin’s knee was related to the injury he suffered during the 2012 NBA playoffs.
USA Basketball National Team alternate and 2012 NBA No. 1 draft pick Anthony Davis (New Orleans Hornets) will suit up for the red, white and blue for Thursday’s USA-Dominican Republic exhibition game at the Thomas & Mack Center.
