(Washington, DC) – Congresswoman Shelley Berkley could learn today if the House Ethics Committee will conduct a formal investigation into alleged wrongdoing. The “Las Vegas Sun” says the panel could also delay action until after the November elections.
Berkley, who’s running for the Senate, urged federal officials not to close the kidney transplant center at University Medical Center. The Democratic lawmaker’s husband has a contract to provide care at the center.
A spokeswoman says Berkley’s “one and only concern” is the well-being of patients.
