Lake Mead Boaters Experience Problems
(Boulder City, NV) — Gusty winds caused problems for boaters on Lake Mead yesterday afternoon.
The National Park Service says nearly two-dozen people had to be rescued after winds reached 50-miles-an-hour, causing gusts that either sunk or capsized six boats at the lake. One man suffered a leg injury and was taken to the hospital.
About 500,000 visitors are expected to be at Lakes Mead and Mohave during the July 4th holiday weekend.
