(Carson City, NV) — If a state lawmaker gets his way, you could pay more for that Big Mac.
Assemblyman Harvey Munford’s bill plans to try again to slap a fee on some fast-food items in Nevada. It is one of nearly 150 draft requests for next year’s Legislature. The Las Vegas Democrat says his proposal may also include so-called “junk food” items. He says the fee would go toward anti-obesity programs.
Munford introduced a similar bill last year, but it died before it could get a hearing.
