LAS VEGAS (AP) — A monthly tally found about the same number of passengers using McCarran International Airport in May as in April, and a slight increase from a year ago.
Airport data made public Friday said about 10,600 more passengers used the Las Vegas airport in May 2012 than in May 2011. That was up just 0.3 percent.
Year-to-date figures show the number of passengers using the airport was almost 17.2 million passengers between January and May.
That’s up 2.4 percent from the first five months of 2011.
McCarran ranks as the eighth-busiest airport nationally and 23rd worldwide by passenger volume.
Southwest Airlines continues to be the airport’s busiest carrier. United and Allegiant airlines had the biggest year-to-year increases in passenger traffic.
