LAS VEGAS (AP) — Michael Mizrachi (miz-ROCK’-ee) is the first two-time winner of the $50,000 buy-in Poker Players Championship at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
The player nicknamed “The Grinder” took a $1.45 million prize Thursday night, along with an individual event championship bracelet.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Chris Klodnicki of Philadelphia finished second and earned just under $900,000. The two topped 106 other competitors vying for the tournament’s second-most coveted title after the Main Event.
Mizrachi is 31 and lives in Miami. He also won the Players Championship in 2010.
The event includes play in eight poker variations.
