LAS VEGAS (AP/KXNT/CBS LAS VEGAS) — Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is in Las Vegas this morning to campaign for Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney.
Campaign officials say Giuliani will rally volunteers at Romney’s campaign office near the Las Vegas Strip by highlighting Romney’s business leadership. Nevada has the highest unemployment rate in the nation.
It’s not the first time Giuliani will loan his political star power to the Romney campaign. He notably joined Romney for a pizza break with some New York City firefighters in May.
Giuliani was mayor when terrorists flew planes into the World Trade Center’s twin towers in 2001.
Giuliani and Romney were rivals in the 2008 Republican presidential primary and Giuliani has suggested Romney’s shifts on abortion, gay marriage and universal health care could be problematic.
