(Washington, DC) — Your trip between Las Vegas and Phoenix may become a little easier. A proposed interstate highway linking the two cities is getting a boost in Congress.
House and Senate negotiators have designated U.S. 93 as a corridor that would be developed for a future Interstate 11, with money allocated to upgrade the highway to freeway standards.
Nevada and Arizona officials have been lobbying for an interstate between the two major cities.
The interstate provision is part of a major transportation bill that’s expected to pass Congress this weekend.
