(Las Vegas, NV)  –  Today is the first day you can buy fireworks for the July 4th holiday.

Clark County Fire Chief Bertral Washington says only fireworks labeled “safe and sane” will be sold by non-profit groups at 170 booths around the Las Vegas Valley.  But you can only set them off on Independence Day.

Officials also warn the use of illegal fireworks can result in a $1000 fine or six-months in jail.

Even with legal fireworks, be sure to use them safely and keep away from children.
